Last Day in Quartzite

The hummingbird has been visiting all morning!

I finally got around to putting out the feeder and was rewarded by visits about every 20 minutes all morning.

Hiked to a series of shaft mines that have been covered.

For some reason, I forgot to take any pictures - too bad because the shafts are impressively big and very deep, covered over by big, rusty grills to keep folks from falling in.  Only hiked for about an hour today; getting ready to pull out tomorrow meant I had some chores to do today. I made a quick run into town to fill up an empty propane tank and gas up.

Finally, a gorgeous sunset and the evening, group campfire

What a fun group of people!

  1. Just found your blog and happy that I did.

By the time we get to Q, everyone is going to be gone.... Love sitting around the campfire with old and new friends. Hopefully someday, down the road.

    1. There are a few people staying the season - balancing time between Dome Rock and the short term LTVA's (if that's not too much of a contradiction in terms :-) ) so you may see some little trailers!
