Desert Living: Too bad I can't photograph a smell or a sound

15 Mar, 2018; Casa Grande, AZ, SKP Rover's Roost RV

When it rains, the desert air is perfume!

A few days ago, there was a rainy, misty day and night (I love the sound of rain on the roof of the trailer!).  Creosote bushes, when wet, smell great - the air is filled with the scent.  I went to sleep with my windows open and the delightful smell filling the trailer.

Not a smell - but a great sunset

The sublime followed by the noxious!

Fast forward to my stay at Rover's Roost in Casa Grande.  This is a nice Escapee Co-op Park, near lots of services - but also right across the road from a big farm.  The farm has been spraying fertilizer and the smell has been pretty strong.  It smells like being right next to a giant, poorly maintained cattle stockyard.

The park is well landscaped - and the birds apparently view it as an oasis

There are thousands of birds: owls, doves, raptors, hummingbirds, and many different little brown birds (I'm not a birder) and every afternoon for a couple hours, they sing and chirp and coo and hoot.  It's really delightful (and surprisingly LOUD).

Not bird - but another great sunset
