Rover's Roost RV Co-op allows trailer washing
That fact, combined with being able to borrow a ladder from Forrest and Mary, means that I can wash the trailer. After a few months (and a full day of driving in the rain and accumulating kicked-up road grease), the trailer really looks dingy. Also, some grease from getting the wheel bearings repacked had leaked out, turning the wheels brown.
But, washing the rig in temperatures reaching the upper 80's (30-33 C) was a chore. I found that even working in the shade, it was impossible to stay hydrated. I alternated bottles of water with Gatorade and still got dehydrated.

In my world, things rarely go perfectly!
A moments inattention, and I snapped off the little dealy that holds the door open in the wind.
Sigh . . . another thing to get fixed.
My hubby constantly talks about getting our Suite washed. It drives him crazy how dirty it gets. He is more anal than me. :)
ReplyDeleteIt sure does look nice when it shines though!
Small repairs, you are human! Take care.
Ps - please send some heat towards Ohio for us. We had 2" of snow last night. :(
DeleteWish I could send you some heat - it's getting a little TOO toasty here for me!
DeleteYour trailer looks all nice and shiny though washing it in the heat does not sound like fun. Tom washed ours last week and it looked so nice for a bit. Then we drove it down the road...:)
ReplyDeleteWe lost more then one of those hooky things on our 5th wheel while it was holding the door in the wind. Plus, they also held up the doors to the basement and they would break. Tom finally purchased several so he would always have one on hand.
Stay safe.
Love a shiny trailer!
DeleteI have a few spare parts - clearly need some more!
