My neighbors needed a new sun awning over their patio.
During a summer storm this year, the wind blew someones awning across the desert and over my neighbors fence. The awning missile destroyed their awning and then crashed through a large window, spraying glass all over their home.
Most of the damage had been fixed - furniture and rugs replaced, but the awning still needed to be constructed and replaced. Lots of folks down here design their own custom sunshades that fit specific spots. So, pipe was purchased, cut, painted, screening and rope was purchased. Finally, it was time to put it together. It took a bunch of us, three ladders and about 2.5 hours - but we 'got er done'. This is the third time these gals have had to rebuild the awning. If the sun isn't deteriorating the plastic sunscreen, the windstorms tear it all apart.
I can't wait for the next BBQ!
